The Cali Effect

Our Story

Scott kissing Cali on the forehead as they embrace outdoors beneath misty green mountains.

Cali was a beautiful soul. A beautiful person who brought joy to everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her smile was infectious, and her ability to find the good in everyone was truly remarkable.

After a six-year battle with breast cancer, Cali passed away in October 2026. But her story doesn't end there. Her memory, her kindness, and the love she shared with so many will live on through The Cali Effect.

Cali believed in random acts of kindness, and she lived that belief every day.

She would buy flowers at the store and have our girls pick someone in the parking lot to surprise with them. She would buy little “love gifts” for family and friends, simply because she was thinking of them. No birthday. No holiday. No special occasion. Just because.

For Cali, making someone smile was reason enough.

Through those simple gestures, she taught me and our children something extraordinary: kindness doesn't have to be grand to make a difference. Sometimes the smallest, most unexpected act can mean the most.

The Cali Effect was created to carry that kindness forward.

Through random acts of kindness, we will honor Cali's memory, share the joy she brought into this world, and continue the legacy she left with our family.

Because the greatest way to remember Cali isn't simply to tell people how wonderful she was.

It's to show them.

A little kindness goes a long way
